Hi there! I am Sara Sagion, a California based animator focused on telling stories through a unique lens.

Currently, I am completing my Bachelors of Fine Arts from the California College of Arts and have been calling San Francisco my home for the past three years. I grew up in South Florida in a Latin-American household and was part of the International Baccalaureate program at South Dade Senior High School where I graduated with Honors in the top 10 of my class. Some of my collaborative work from high school has been featured on CNN. Thanks to a college scholarship I am now pursuing my dream career as an Animator—and I could’t be happier.

Accessibility is an important part of my work, for this reasons I make sure to use clear lines, subtitles and strong colors to be more inclusive of all audiences. The work of Rebecca Sugar, Dana Terrace and Pendleton Ward inspire me with their character designs, visual storytelling abilities and color choices. I am also deeply interested in the cross-section between the Latinx and queer communities and the role they hold in today’s world.

My goals as an animator are to provide representation to all communities, to tell stories and to build complex relationships between my characters, their environment and other people. As I grow professionally, I aim to develop and learn new strategies, techniques and ways of storytelling.
